India Meditates: ‘Dhyanotsav – The Heartfulness Way’ is reaching out to every household in India

  • To mark the 75th anniversary of the Heartfulness Movement.
  • Recent events have already touched the lives of more than 100,000 people in Telangana, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.

In order to bring the benefits of meditation to people of all walks of life, Heartfulness Institute has launched the Dhyantosav initiative in India.

Dhyantosav is a wellness fest that focuses on Relaxation and Meditation. In large cities the gatherings host over 5000 people, whereas Gram Dhyantosav is for smaller cities and towns, attracting 700 to 1000 people at each event. The three Heartfulness workshops are designed to teach everyone how to include meditation as a part of their daily lives. The programs also include Yogasanas and some interesting brain training exercises for the participants. They are free of cost, and are held in stadiums, government offices, corporates and other easily accessible places.

Commenting on the initiative, Daaji has said, “Our natural state of being is blissful and in touch with our inner nature. Meditation transforms us to that state where the mind can combat the challenges of day-to-day life, effectively. Decisions that help shape an efficient life become a habit. An individual’s experience of oneself and the world is elevated. Through Dhyanotsav, we are offering the benefits of Heartfulness meditation to millions across the country.”

Mr Sanjay Lalbhai, Chairman and Managing Director of Arvind Limited said, “The striking aspect of Dhyantosav is that it aims to touch the lives of people across the country and not just in cities. It is a good opportunity for everyone to take advantage of the events that are being hosted close to their location and experience the benefit of mediation.”

Dhyanotsav sessions have already been held successfully in Karimnagar, Khammam, Rajahmundry, Surat, Mumbai, IICT-Hyderabad, Calicut, Sitapur and Bhopal, attracting an average of over 5,000 people per event. In the next few months, districts of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh and will witness Dhyanotsav.

I have received feedback that the 3-day sessions have helped the participants to understand how meditation can help them in their daily lives.
