Introducing the Successor
October 25, 2011, Ahmedabad, India
Dear brothers and sisters,
I am happy to be with you all, as always. I was told by some statistically-minded abhyasis that I had visited Ahmedabad during Diwali in 1984 – that is twenty-seven years ago. Of course in all the intervening years I have made umpteen numbers of visits to this place, but today, by a strange coincidence, I am again here for Diwali, twenty-seven years after the first Diwali.
I wish to give you all the good news that you already know, that brother Kamlesh Patel, a son of this soil, of Gujarat, will be my successor to the post of President of Shri Ram Chandra Mission. He is there before you, and when the time comes for him to take up the president-ship, he will do it, and with the cooperation of all of you, unstinted co-operation and love of all of you, he must take the Mission into the next half-century of its existence.
So, I came here mainly for the purpose of publicly announcing this in Gujarat, before all of you. And thank you all for being here.
Thank you.
